Miami, FL: The Miami-Dade Democratic Party has announced that it achieved an all-time, record shattering fundraising year in 2019. Through a combination of small dollar donations, monthly fundraisers, and its signature annual fundraiser The Blue Gala, the Party was able to raise $607,187.82. The Party’s most successful fundraising year previously, raked in a total of $377,228.97.

We are pleased to see presidential candidates visit South Florida. As the Miami-Dade Democratic Party, we will do our best to share information about their local appearances in our county, providing equal access for all candidates to our followers and email subscribers.

Miami, FL: Failed Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Giménez is rumored to be considering a run for Florida’s 26th congressional district. The Miami-Dade Democratic Party is deeply familiar with Corrupt Carlos’ litany of failed policies and self-dealings throughout his tenure as mayor and strongly opposes his potential candidacy.

We are all concerned by the escalation of conflict with Iran being conducted by the (impeached) president, but we cannot let it distract us from important issues at home. Our legislators will soon be heading up to Tallahassee to fight for issues that affect our lives every day, issues like fair wages, health care, women's rights, LGBT protection, voting access, gun safety, and our precious environment.

Did you know that some of the lowest voter turnout in Florida takes place in northeast Miami-Dade? We have a great deal of work in 2020 to make sure that voters are registered and engaged ahead of the key election dates. Note that Feb 18th is the deadline for registering as a Democrat to participate in the primaries, where we will hopefully be selecting the next President of the United States.

The Miami-Dade Democratic Party set records for fundraising and attendance at its annual Blue Gala this weekend, illustrating a new level of energy for Democrats in Florida’s biggest county one year before the presidential election. Presented under the theme, “It’s on Us,” the gala’s keynote speaker was Congressman Hakeem Jeffries and featured Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried. Seven community and elected leaders were honored, highlighted by former Miami Dade College president Eduardo Padron receiving the local party's lifetime achievement award.

The Gala raised over $360,000, a record for the local party. For context, that's more than double the amount the Miami-Dade Democratic Party raised at its gala year ago. With more than 550 attendees, it was also the largest gala the Miami-Dade Democrats have ever presented.
