Hello fellow Kendall Democrats! I'm Bryan Hernandez, interim President of the West Kendall Democrats club, and I'm excited to tell you that we're re-launching our club. We will have our general club meeting next month. Former FL State Representative Robert Ascensio will be our keynote speaker to reflect on the 2018 election and plan for the future. 

I have been here before. The exhaustion that you've been ignoring starts to catch up with you and despair starts to creep in. How could the majority of voters choose DeSantis over Gillum? I don't know. This I do know. We have a choice.

Key election results for South Florida

Early voting is taking place daily from 7am to 7pm and the 2018 ballot will be packed with a number of amendments for voters to decide on. Many of which have been loaded with additional provisions. We’ve had a team review the amendments and the entire Democratic Executive Committee voted on the below recommendations after lengthy discussion. We hope that you find our recommendations useful.

Look up your voting location

Lyft and Uber are offering 50% off rides to polling stations on Election Day as part of its voting access program.

The rideshare apps say people without cars are less likely to vote.

According to a report released by Lyft, a one mile increase in distance to a polling site can reduce voter turnout by 20%.

The longest drives to a polling site average 5.8 miles in Texas.

Lyft users can take advantage of the discount by preloading the code VOTE24 into their app until November 5.

Uber also announced it will offer half-off rideshare costs of up to $10 on Election Day for users in most states.

Be on the look out for misinformation on Election Day. Organizations are out trying to mislead voters. Please be sure to look for the Democratic Party recommendations for candidates and amendments.
