High school students to host full-day summit on April 7

This movement is being led and will be won by young people. With a coalition of partners, we are organizing a large scale convening of high school student leaders in Miami-Dade.

Hosted by Miami-Dade Teen Democats, Defeat the NRA, Women's March Florida Miami-Dade Chapter& Miami-Dade Democratic Party.

The Young Leaders Summit has the following goals:

  • Inspire. We'll invite national advocates on gun reform.
  • Train. Lots of teenagers are organizing, mobilizing, and advocating for the first time. Let’s give them the best training possible from the best trainers possible and at no cost.
  • Connect. Students leaders need to meet one another. They need to support one another. They need to build genuine relationships with one another.
  • Strategize. We need a collective plan of action for the Summer and the Fall with an eye toward replacing all NRA politicians.
Participants should walk away with all the skills necessary to keep the gun reform movement alive, meet the movement's goals of passing common sense gun reform, and apply these skills to other movements/ campaigns.

This event is for students only. Parking is free. Lunch is provided. RSVP is required.
