Senate Bill 1822 goes to Senate Community Affairs Committee this Monday, March 31 at 4:00 pm. The bill would prevent cities and counties from imposing restrictions or bans on plastic bags, foam containers, and similar items, taking away local control.

On January 20, 2025, just hours into his new Administration, President Trump signed an Executive Order attempting to end birthright citizenship for children of parents without lawful status or on non-immigrant visas—an action that directly contradicts the plain text of the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. The 14th Amendment guarantees citizenship to all individuals born on U.S. soil, with only one exception: children of foreign diplomats with diplomatic immunity.
