Through his involvement with community organizations, including this DEC (Democratic Executive Committee of Miami-Dade) and various Democratic clubs and candidates, he developed a passion to serve the residents and volunteers who are anxious for change. Steve recently served as the President of the Miami-Dade Young Democrats and as General Counsel for this DEC in addition to other organizations. He also sits on the Miami-Dade Commission on Human Rights, a quasi-judicial body responsible for adjudicating appellate level human rights claims.

Steve moved to South Florida a decade ago to attend law school at the University of Miami after previously receiving his BA in Political Science and Theology at the University of Notre Dame. He has spent much of his professional career directing a large team of lawyers and operations staff but has now shifted focus to corporate litigation and transactional affairs.

As chair of this DEC, Steve has committed to focus efforts on adding Democrats to our local commissions, electing a Democrat as Mayor of Miami-Dade and increasing our margin of victory in this county so we can turn Florida dependably blue. He will seek to elect Democrats up and down the ballot by way of grassroots fundraising, an aggressive 365 day a year field and outreach campaign, and improved use of technology for transparency.
