Seeking to bridge the disconnect between Floridians and state lawmakers elected to represent them, the Office of State Senator Dwight Bullard, Democratic Black Caucus of Florida, ACLU of Florida and Florida Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials have come together to launch the “Florida Speaks Tour” scheduled to kick off in Pensacola, Florida on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Bethel AME Church. The Florida Speaks tour is a series of town hall assemblies allowing residents of Florida the opportunity to publicly address their frustrations and hardships as a result of violations to their civil liberties, racial profiling, “Stand Your Ground” law, overuse of law enforcement in schools, and lack of access to suitable healthcare.

Miami Dems Chair Annette Taddeo-Goldstein Appointed to DNC Leadership

At their summer meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona last week, the Democratic National Committee elected Miami-Dade Democratic Party Chair and FDP Vice-Chair Annette Taddeo-Goldstein to three leadership positions: executive committee member, Chair of the Hispanic Caucus for the southern region, and Vice-Chair of the Small Business Council.

The Miami Dems are proud to announce that our chairwoman, Annette Taddeo-Goldstein, is the host of her own new show appearing on CNN Latino: Taddeo2Day.

On the show, Annette and her line-up of prominent guests deliver timely, hard-hitting coverage of the issues that matter most to the Hispanic community in Miami-Dade and beyond. The Miami-Dade Democratic Party is launching a new candidate recruitment initiative to actively recruit energetic, civically engaged leaders to run in key seats across Miami. 

Senator Dwight Bullard, a fierce Florida advocate for youth and social justice, will speak at this weekend's historic March on Washington, DC. "The March on Washington this year is a culmination of all our collective efforts as Americans coming together to reclaim the dream of prosperity and fairness," said Senator Bullard. "For those willing to work hard, study diligently, and rise to the occasion, shouldn't the award be more than staggering tuition, and a crushing debt? Shouldn't the American dream — the same dream Dr. King stood in this very city and defined — be available to those of few or moderate means as it is to those with so much?...That is the question that will define this generation."
