The Supreme Court's landmark ruling to strike down the Defense of Marriage Act is a huge step forward for marriage equality in the U.S.

In Florida, it must also be a call to action. A majority of Floridians support same-sex marriage — and the Court's decision shows that the country is moving every day toward full equality for LGBT citizens in the eyes of the law. Yet our legislature continues to offer not even basic protections to same-sex couples.
