Call Script:

Good morning/afternoon,

My name is ______ and I am a constituent from  ______. I am very concerned about the proposed changes to the Urban Development Boundary during the vote scheduled for January 23rd. I support the Urban Expansion Area Task Force’s majority opinion that preserves the current Urban Development Boundary without modifications, and ask that you vote in favor of applications 4, 5, 6, and 7 submitted by the County staff. The proposed expansion pushed by special interest groups encourages sprawl and traffic congestion, and would jeopardize our drinking water, divert resources from existing communities, endanger jobs in our County’s agricultural economy and further degrade sensitive Everglades habitat. Additionally, the proposed expansion areas are only a few feet above sea level, and new development would be prone to both naturally occurring flooding and increasing future risk from sea level rise.

For these reasons, I strongly urge Commissioner ___________________  to support Applications 4, 5, 6, and 7 on January 23rd.

Thank you for your leadership and commitment to preserving our water, our environment, and our agricultural economy on the 23rd. ****END***

Don’t forget to fill out the tracker form!
