More Than 34,000 Miami-Dade Voters Have Switched to the Democratic Party Since 2016

The Wave of Party Switches Indicates Voters Are Fed Up With Republican Policies

Miami, FL: Today, the Miami-Dade Democratic Party released data indicating that since the 2016 election, more than 34,000 voters in Miami-Dade County have switched their party affiliation to the Democratic Party. Some 26,446 voters switched from "No Party Affiliation" to Democrat, while 8,078 have switched from Republican Party to Democrat.

"The data indicates that thousands of Miami-Dade voters are fed up with the impeached President and are ready to move our country forward with progressive policies that benefit working families," said Steve Simeonidis, Chair of the Miami-Dade Democratic Party. He continued, "More voters are switching every day and efforts are ongoing to engage these motivated and energized individuals. We welcome these new members to the Party and thank them for their support going into this historic election." He credited the switches to the tireless efforts of members of the Miami-Dade Democratic Executive Committee.Party switches could be the edge in decisive races.
