Congressman Joe Kennedy III, Ed Schultz Coming to Miami for First-Annual Blue Gala

Congressman Joe Kennedy and MSBNC's Ed Schultz will join Miami Democratic elected officials, community leaders, and supporters for the first-annual Blue Gala hosted by the Miami-Dade Democratic Party on Sunday, November 17th at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables.

"Since he was elected to Congress, Joe Kennedy has emerged as a leader fighting for social justice and economic opportunity for all Americans," said Miami Dems chair Annette Taddeo-Goldstein. "He has a long, bright future ahead of him, and we are excited to welcome him to Miami."

At the Blue Gala, Ed Schultz will receive the Miami Dems' first Progressive Voice award which honors leaders in media, politics or policy who champion progressive values on the national stage.

"Ed Schultz has been an unwavering advocate for the middle and working class of America throughout his career in an age when corporate interests muddle and distort national politics," said Taddeo-Goldstein. "He deserves this recognition and we are honored to celebrate his work."

Miami-Dade county holds the key to winning statewide and national races in Florida. The first-annual Blue Gala will raise essential funds to support the Miami-Dade Democratic Party's mission: expanding the electorate through voter registration; training and mobilizing volunteers; and recruiting, electing and re-electing progressives at all levels in order to defeat Rick Scott and turn Florida blue from the bottom up.
