Donald Trump and Venezuela, statement from the Miami-Dade Democratic Hispanic Caucus

Donald Trump and his cronies continue to demonstrate their utter disdain for Venezuela and the Venezuelan American diaspora.

The facts are clear, Venezuelan gangs are not ravaging the United States and increasing crime rates. Violent crimes are down since Trump left the White House.

It is insulting and ludicrous to assert that Venezuela is safer than the United States by relying on dictator Maduro’s made-up statistics.

Venezuelan asylum seekers were not released from mental institutions. Venezuelans are fleeing tyranny, persecution, and repression and only seek a chance to the American Dream.

Trump disregards the plight of Venezuelans trying to survive under the Maduro regime. He ignores the suKering of those fighting for a return to democracy in Venezuela and here in the US.

The United States is not a failed nation. Venezuelan Americans know what a failed nation looks like.

We take Trump at his word this time. We invite him to experience a failing nation and move to Venezuela after Kamala Harris is elected our next President.
