Rhonda Rebman Lopez’s attempt to explain away her Maduro Money exposed her to campaign finance violations

Miami-Dade, FL: - Today, the chair of the Miami-Dade Democratic Party, Steve Simeonidis, filed a formal complaint against Rhonda Rebman Lopez, Republican candidate for Florida House District 120. The complaint alleges that Ms. Rebman Lopez accepted a $1,000 contribution in violation of Florida statute 106.08 which states that “[a] person may not make any contribution through or in the name of another, directly or indirectly, in any election.”

Miami-Dade Democrats Urge Elections Department to Create Drive-though and Walk-up Dropboxes for Vote-By-Mail Dropoff

Miami-Dade, FL: On Monday, June 15, the Miami-Dade Democratic Party Steering Committee passed a unanimous resolution calling for the Miami-Dade Elections Department to create drive-through and walk-up dropboxes for voters to deposit completed Vote-By-Mail ballots.

After seeing long lines of voters attempting to cast their votes during the Wisconsin primary and the Georgia primary, it is imperative that Miami-Dade voters are able to cast their ballots in a no-contact manner. We call on the County Commissioners to vote to support this change in order to ensure a more efficient, safe and secure means to cast a ballot during COVID-19 and we call on the Supervisor of Elections to implement it.

110 members to be elected to the Miami-Dade Democratic Executive Committee in August

If you are reading this, there is still time to qualify to be on the ballot this summer to represent your district within the local Democratic Party!

This August, Miami-Dade county registered Democrats will elect the 110 people to make up the Democratic Executive Committee (DEC). The elections correspond to 55 district designations with a man and woman elected per district.
