Miami, FL: The Miami-Dade Democratic Party has announced that it achieved an all-time, record shattering fundraising year in 2019. Through a combination of small dollar donations, monthly fundraisers, and its signature annual fundraiser The Blue Gala, the Party was able to raise $607,187.82. The Party’s most successful fundraising year previously, raked in a total of $377,228.97.

Not only does this number set a new standard for the most the Miami-Dade Democratic Party has raised before in any year, it also reflects the biggest fundraising year of any county party in Florida, ever.

“I want to thank the hundreds of great Democrats across the county and beyond who dug deep, recognized the significance of this moment and answered the call for supporting our local Democratic Party,” said Miami-Dade Democratic Party Chair Steve Simeonidis. “Our donors know that Miami-Dade, as the largest county in the biggest swing state in the nation will play a huge role in the outcome of the next election and they stepped up in a major way. We will be using these record-breaking contributions to create the sustainable infrastructure needed to ensure we elect a Democratic County Mayor and also help deliver historic Democratic voter support in Miami-Dade for the Democratic nominee for President and all Democrats on the ballot this November.”

The Party aims to build on and surpass 2019’s fundraising success in 2020. The funds will be used for a variety of robust Voter Registration, Vote by Mail, and Get Out the Vote programs and the hiring of staff and organizers during the 2020 election cycles.
