The Miami-Dade Democratic Party is pleased and proud to announce that Senator Annette Taddeo, who served as county party chair from 2012 to 2014 and founded the party’s Blue Gala, will be chairing the party’s 10th anniversary of its annual fundraising dinner this fall.

A committed and widely-admired Miami-Dade Democrat who made history as the first Latina Democrat elected to the Florida Senate in 2017, a seat she was subsequently re-elected to and where she served as District 40 State Senator until 2022, Senator Taddeo will bring her political wisdom and deep community connections to shaping the program of this year’s festivities. The Blue Gala will provide the financial muscle to mobilize our county’s Democratic majority for the crucial 2024 election season.
“Ten years ago, we had the audacity to dream big, and the Blue Gala was essential to raising the resources necessary to bring those dreams to fruition. Today we have one of our recruits serving as the first woman mayor as well as a Democratic majority in the county. My commitment to building an infrastructure that elects and supports Democratic leaders up and down the ballot has never wavered. I cannot wait to get to work,” said Senator Taddeo
“Senator Taddeo’s dedication to and involvement with the Miami-Dade Democratic Party remains unparalleled. We are thrilled to have her chair the 10th celebration of the gala that she started and look forward to an incredible event,” said Miami Dade Democratic Party Chairman Robert Dempster.
Miami-Dade county holds the key to winning statewide and national races in Florida. The annual Blue Gala will raise essential funds to support the Miami-Dade Democratic Party's mission: expanding the electorate through voter registration; training and mobilizing volunteers; and recruiting, electing and re-electing Democrats at all levels in order to turn Florida blue.
