(Miami-Dade County, FL) - Miami-Dade Democratic Party Chair, Robert Dempster appoints Victoria F. Vega (D-Miami Lakes) as the new Party Communications Chair. Born to a Puerto Rican mother and Uruguayan father, Victoria is a proud Latina. A product of Miami-Dade County Public Schools, she attended Miami Lakes K-8 Center and Design and Architecture Senior High (DASH) - going on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Communication & Rhetorical Studies with a minor in Political Science on a Pre-Law Track at Syracuse University.

While working in governmental communications at the Town of Miami Lakes, Victoria is currently earning her Masters Degree at American University online in Strategic Communication with a focus in Diversity & Multicultural Communication. Victoria F. Vega has an expansive portfolio of experience spanning from senatorial and congressional campaigns, working in the Office of Public Affairs at the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA), dabbling in resilience planning and programming at the University of Miami Office of Sustainability, serving as the Director of Humanitarian Relief at the Lambda Theta Alpha Foundation and lastly serving as the Communications Chair at the Progressive Caucus of Miami-Dade County.

A prime focus of Party Communications Chair, Victoria F. Vega is the further political engagement of our non-English speaking communities. She states: “It is imperative that we as a party communicate as frequently and efficiently in the languages that reflect our population aside from English. Failing to do so leaves a huge percentage of our people in the dark and uninformed on matters that directly affect them and their community. I am ready to hit the ground running and execute the work needed to better educate our communities and help elect officials who will fearlessly champion Democratic values!”
