The Miami-Dade Democratic Party is kicking off two Early Voting Weeks of Action to get out the vote for our endorsed candidates!

This week and next week we’re calling Democrats across the county to remind them to return their mail ballot, and to ask them to support our fantastic candidates. A blue wave in August means an even bigger blue wave in November—can you help us make calls for one of the following candidates to help get out the vote?

Property Appraiser: Marisol Zenteno

Marisol Zenteno is our endorsed candidate for Miami-Dade County Property Appraiser. She’s a past president of the League of Women Voters, and has over fifteen years’ experience appraising properties in Miami-Dade County as a State General Appraiser. She’ll bring fresh, common-sense ideas to the Office of the Property Appraiser, including stronger support for its diverse workforce and multilingual outreach to the general public. School Board District 3: Lucia Baez-Geller

Lucia Baez-Geller is our endorsed candidate for School Board in District 3. She’s a Language Arts teacher at Miami Beach High School, and has dedicated the last fifteen years of her life to education. Lucia has worked with United Teachers of Dade, Florida Education Association, the National Education Association, Educational Excellence School Advisory Council, Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents, Media Ambassador for the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, and served as the Education Chair with the League of Women Voters. School Board District 5: Dr. Mara Zapata

Dr. Mara Zapata is our endorsed candidate for School Board in District 5. She has dedicated her professional life to education, and currently serves as Associate Director of the FIUTeach program in the STEM Transformation Institute. She has served as an Instructional Supervisor for Miami Dade County Public Schools, and mentored many teachers who are working in the field. School Board District 7: Dr. Marie Flore Lindor-Latortue

Dr. Marie Flore Lindor-Latortue is our endorsed candidate for School Board in District 7. She is an elementary teacher with a masters in Health Services Administration, and believes that education and health go hand in hand. School Board District 9: Dr. Nancy Lawther

Dr. Nancy Lawther is our endorsed candidate for School Board in District 9. She is a lifelong educator, and recognized community advocate committed to expanding our children’s opportunities, keeping them safe, and restoring the value of their public school education.  She is also past president of Miami-Dade County Council PTA/PTSA and chair of Citizens’ Coalition for Miami-Dade Public Schools. County Commission District 5: Eileen Higgins

Commissioner Eileen Higgins is our endorsed candidate for County Commission in District 5. She has fought for resiliency in the face of a changing environment, common sense gun reforms to keep us safe, and programs that afford everyone an equal shot at the American Dream. County Commission District 7: Cindy Lerner

Cindy Lerner is our endorsed candidate for County Commission in District 7. She served as mayor of Pinecrest from 2008 until 2016, and is a nationally recognized leader on climate change policies. County Commission District 11: Robert Asencio

Robert Asencio is our endorsed candidate for County Commission in District 11. He is a former state representative for House District 118, serving in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2018.
